The Gran Melia Volcan Lanzarote is a resort hotel designed as a striking replica of a traditional village arranged around a volcano set 900 metres from the port of Playa Blanca and 25 kilometres from Arrecife Airport. This three floor property features 255 air conditioned, colonial style guestrooms decorated with tiled floors, wicker and wood furnishings and balconies. Amenities include satellite TV, Internet, safes, and minibars, while bathrooms feature double sinks, toiletries, robes and slippers.
On entering the hotel guests pass through a striking replica of the Church of Teguise to the sound of Gregorian music and through to the heart of the resort which is designed to resemble a traditional village of the island with patios, piazzas and fountains. The hotel's four pools are surrounded by large terraces and gardens with hammocks and sunshades. The lake pool is at the centre of the resort and guests can relax on the terraces by the artificial beach and enjoy waiter service from the poolside bar. Day and night activities include diving demonstrations, wine tasting, Spanish lessons, salsa classes, cooking and cocktail demonstrations and fashion shows.
Those seeking relaxation can head to the wellness centre with a wide range of treatments and facilities. As well as five restaurants the hotel has four bars, the Habana lobby bar in the cone of the Volcano which offer live music in the evening whilst absorbing the tranquil sound of the waterfall and a Fun Pub which entertains guests with shows, live music and dancing. Drivers will appreciate free indoor and outdoor parking.

Driving Directions

The best way to get from the airport to the hotel is by taxi. Taxis are readily available outside the airport and should cost approximately 30 EUR. Playa Blanca is best explored on foot. A hire car would be useful for trips around the island.
Driving directions: From the airport At the exit from the airport head south towards Yaiza. After passing Yaiza, there is a roundabout, at which follow directions for Playa Blanca and then follow signposts for the hotel.
